lady, i am a diamond in the dirt

lady, i am a crude emerald stone
that offers to thee much more than its ore
made dull by the impurities of raw creation
but if you choose to throw it disregarded
because its speck is lesser than your thought
the future will chastise and brime it clean
then its glitter shall out-glow every other

lady, all good things were made short
and buried far below their glory by gloom
but if it's true love you seek to achieve
regardless if it's adorned by pearls,or gold
or the fortunes i was never made to have
all you have to do is love,or leave
and see if the future dosent justify its fullfillment

lady, i can give you all that i own
if it can sum up to any-thing reasonable
but my spectre is short of glowing
made dim by the imperfection of man's creation
that if it is taken to a furnace to be beaten
it can glow brighter even than riches
but can you stand the test of the pendulums swing?
