tight (*prose poem*)

Pain has an unknown cavity squeezed by painted plastic gloves.  A frosted green anvil is beaten by hands.  The house is filled with knots of a construction worker.  Her thick, meaty hands jerk rope tightly together.  The beats grow less frequent, the anvil smashed into a ruined diamond from further tying and pounding.  These hands open and close, close and open, and fingers wave like a piano's white teeth laughing.  They disappear.
