the greatest poet

the greatest poet is the pen it-self
for it puts to paper its genuity, and originality
immortalising the hand that clasped it
because the writer and the written are one

then the poet is wedded to the paper
as their love affair lasts through ages
that if you take one from the other
they ever remain incomplete,and undone

mere is man just a toy device
used as a vessel to convey the message
that the ink spits all over the blank pages
and re-writes that which has already been written

so let shakespeare not take the honours of the pen
or dickens give to God what is to caesar
but all accomplices can take blame for the crime
also can all men share the glory of their pen

Hi Emeka,

I don´t think we´ve met before, so first of all: Nice to meet you. I was drawn into this piece by your first stanza, and the promise of those first lines was true: This is a well thought out poem. Your theme, of course, is one that will appeal to many here. But I found quite a lot of spelling mistakes, which can make it hard to read. Do you need help with them? Let me know by your answer to my comment, please. I´d be happy to help you. With poetic regards, Ink Dragon

No problem,

I see you have already found some of the mistakes and rectified them. There are only "shakesphere" and "ceasar" left, which should read "shakespeare" and "caesar". A trouble word for me was "genuity" (l.2). Did you mean genuineness? Apart from that, a really enjoyable write, Ink
