Peppermint Tea

I drink peppermint tea,any tea, reallyout of a tall mugdesigned for hot chocolate. On the sideis a decorative snowman;beyond my wallsare real snowflakes, quickly piling. I have noticedthat when I microwave the waterfor my peppermint tea(or any tea, really)that it has a strange, slightly slimy feel. Why is this? But alas I am too lazyto put it on the stove, the cupboard containing my pots and pansis too disorganized, and besides, the stoveis way on the other sideof my tiny kitchen.

*dies laughing*

The last stanza really makes the poem. Your title was interesting, because I was expecting a nice, dreamy poem - which is what peppermint tea usually does; kind of like chamomile. Instead, I had a gut-busting laugh at the end at your adversion to walking 3 feet over to the stove! Here's a hint on cleaner 'nuked' water - make sure the nuker is clean. LOL, j/k... actually, if you put a paper towel over your cup, it keeps the water "fresher". ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, piss on it and walk away!"

thanks Jess!

I will try the paper towel. The microwave is brand new, so don't think I need to clean it yet, lol! (ok, maybe I do...) I actually had thought about doing a dreamy style poem, but then my laziness took over :) Mark W. who

the hell wants to ruin a pleasant, winter reverie by walking three feet? all my sympathies there. the water only felt slimy to me when i was slightly..well..altered. but i get it! neat. gb

haha

This is funny, especially because I've done the same thing! And it takes so much longer on the stove.

no doubt, Brian!

there's like a whole 2 minute difference. Who has that kind of time? Mark W. "An insult is just someone who hates you making a noise to indicate their hatred, a barking dog. Choking

on my microwaved orange flavored green tea... funny... two steps and one minute verses six steps and five minutes... I always take the quicker way... My wife hates the microwave, she says it is "radiating your food"... so we use it much less than some, but for tea... it is perfect for me, I am the only one that drinks it... still smiling... love that tea!
