Lament 4 Jimmy...

Cars hiss by my window, wishin' Jimmy wasn't dead,
Trucks roll past their airbrakes, shatter stillness from my head.

Wakin' late this mornin', can't shake things that we said,
Waitin' for me out there is a life I've never led.

First step begins a journey, new signposts to be read,
Move forward take that footstep denyin' chances to be bled.

Signposts flash before you they are flashin' green and red,
Jimmy's down the drainpipe there was more he could have said.

Like a rabbit in the spotlight caught his own shot to the head.
Cars hiss by my window,  wishin' Jimmy wasn't dead.

Hi Craig...

Jimmy... it makes me want to know more about him... I liked it very much but I'm guessing this isn't so much a personal write for you... enjoyed the read! Richard

Ahhh this is a story of one

Ahhh this is a story of one and two; the division bell. Thank you. Hugely enjoyed. ~Anna "We have to try to get rid of the notion of time. And when you have an intense contact of love with nature or another human being, like a spark, then you understand that there is no time and that everything is eternal." Paulo Coelho

Seems personal to me-

I like the way this is structured, with the primary thought then the thought that sneaks in on its tail. Also like how the poem comes back to the start. Life zips by and you're stuck. It's like that, for a while anyway. Sad but not hysterical. I enjoyed it.

thanks arrow..

yeah... like a question and the echo of its answer running together, circling back, were possibilities released or contained ? Enjoyed your comments. Craig.

A bit reminiscent of his

A bit reminiscent of his style, even without the borrowed line. A good tribute to a much misunderstood man, I really like this. Regards Nigel
