Abandoning familiar sounds

In that moment we abandoned

care of all we’ve gathered round.

Our present lives so moribund,

give comfort in the steady sound;

so familiar in its middle tones

that please with easy listening.

Our nights spent wandering alone

in places past imagining,

where something empty resonates,

its vessel walls constraining need,

but can such hollow music make

our lives full by denying greed?

No, we are not half-formed muses,

warmly cocooned in single beds,

there is more than conscience chooses

to play our hearts and lose our heads.

Enjoyed the flow

Stella, fellow British, I enjoyed the flow of this, i had some music on at the same time, is it Haydn? It went well although the sounds were not for me unfamiliar. Do you mean being bold and stepping out from the familiar into the great unknown? I very much enjoyed it as I said but would like a little more explanation about what you want to say. Perhaps it is its own explanation and you need not answer me! Just Ann of Norway

Thanks Ann

Yes it is very much about stopping keeping within your comfort zone and taking a chance in order to give some true meaning to your life. A simple message but one that most of us need to hear. Glad you enjoyed it with best wishes Keith

Indeed! That old comfort

Indeed! That old comfort zone of a single bed. And yet, is it ever a conscious choice? Does conscience have anything to do with it, really? Much warmth. ~A "We have to try to get rid of the notion of time. And when you have an intense contact of love with nature or another human being, like a spark, then you understand that there is no time and that everything is eternal." Paulo Coelho

Sometimes conscience can most certainly

get in the way of leaving your comfort zone Anna. There are always those who depend on you who want you to stay just the way you are and not go a little crazy and rock the boat lol. Keith
