Stealing Hearts

Stealing Hearts

Your smile makes
A heavy heart light
Your dark eyes are
Alert to faces
Hiding painful thoughts
Of life struggles

Lost innocence is drawn
To your happiness
Untouched by the sicknesses
Endured in this hospital today

A happy baby talking, laughing
Demanding all the attention
Diverting sad faces from
Their troubled heart
If only for a moment

Just four-month-old
Smiling at all the faces
Of families waiting on
Family members getting
Heart catheters today

Stealing the hearts
Of all you meet

How true this is...! I have been in the Hospital and seen it for myself... a beautiful smiling baby can take the pain away for a time... even if only for a second... life's seconds are indeed a precious thing... four-month-old... four-months-old I can see your proudness showing... looks good on ya! dear Barbara,

a touching poem. Family members getting Heart catheters today a shocking line because of the literal connection to the baby (heart catheters - stealing hearts), I just love that part. I must agree with our friend from the moon: your pride shines through. :-) your Proprietress

Thanks I appreciate your comment. Yes I am very proud of this precious little fellow.:) I didn't realize the connection between the two heart. Glad you mentioned it. I wrote it down just as it flowed from my memories of today. It is amazing how such a little fellow can cheer up a whole waiting room of concerned faces coming and going. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

I apologize for taking so long to comment. Getting back in into school after a two semester break, due to my health that continue to regress, so I'm taking only on line classes right now, family the pits I'm moving forward. Glad you like the poem this was a must write. It flow freely from me as. My precious grandson so big now I can't hold him now not even sitting due to body weakness and pain, he is a positive light in my dark world. *My chin is up* Happy though I am falling apart. My happiness is not dependent on those around me, but when God empowers me spiritually to see his love and understanding and to endure no matter and not give way to the devil work. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Wonderful write Barbara

Touching and children can be so precious. They can lighten up a room or want to make people scream and run for the door. *LOL* Loved this one and can tell you are proud. Best wishes to you mom and to the rest of your family my friend. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water."

Barbara,

I am ever so glad to have stumbled on this little piece of yours. I assume it´s your grandson you´re writing about. He is indeed a charming little boy. But then, when are we more beautiful than as little children? Every baby is just perfect, they are entirely they, no traces of disappointment or bitterness can be found in their eyes. By looking at them, we are inspired and remember our own innocence and curiosity... Thank you for this sweet write, ~Nina

Children are just that. He certainly takes me back to days when I was a curious and innocent little person. My grandson looks at me with those eyes of no disappointment are bitterness. (Lol) He wants me to hold him now 4 months but can't and he sees it I think. He just stares into me as he hates being confined to the bed with me all day. *smiling* I enjoyed him while he was smaller because I new this day would come. Thanks for commenting. I always look forward to your comments. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara
