Finale Me

-Finale Me-

what bucket must I carry?
to properly contain
all those caring
for my soul?
a soul I am assured
is nothing more
than metaphor
this practice
of asking me
what I believe
only to seek
a strategy of approach
to poke holes
In what others subscribe to
or choose not to devote to
is rather contrived
hold on a minute
does that negate my eternity?
Indeed!
in the Here and Now
I am ready to die
when that moment comes
rest assured I accept Nothing
but DMT
will show me otherwise
so kindly leave me die
without casting my
Final Hallucination

Wow, this a pretty profound piece! I, too, and curious as to what DMT stands for. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"Handle every situation like a dog: if you can't eat it, or screw it, piss on it and walk away!"

Ahh yes DMT

Source Wiki, Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), also known as N,N-dimethyltryptamine, is a naturally-occurring tryptamine and potent psychedelic drug, found not only in many plants, but also in trace amounts in the human body where its natural function is undetermined. Structurally, it is analogous to the neurotransmitter serotonin and other psychedelic tryptamines such as 5-MeO-DMT and 4-HO-DMT. DMT is created in small amounts by the human body during normal metabolism[1] by the enzyme tryptamine-N-methyltransferase. Many cultures, indigenous and modern, ingest DMT as a psychedelic in extracted or synthesized forms.[2] Pure DMT at room temperature is a clear or white to yellowish-red crystalline solid. DMT was first chemically synthesized in 1931.[3] When My heart crashed about three years ago, I learned the progressive experience, Adrenaline, Endorphines, and then DMT What a Trip, I was at the Threshold, I hallcinated so clearly, and in panoramic.. but I saw no "city of gold". Perhaps what we invest in devotional wise, is soft ware for the base of that final experience.. The only reason I inquire a friends religion , or lack of, is so I can have closer, that they had a destination, insisting that others embrace one particular belief is rooted in selfishness. Thank You Jess, and Moon Man. Relax when you face dying, a relaxed body accepts the Final Dosing much better than a tense one. I noticed that a clouded mind blotted my "observation". They challenge science to explain death, and when science does not cater to their myths, they stack wood for trials. Why spend life preparing to cope with death? In ink, Dabbler

This is absolutely great

This is absolutely great poetry! It captivated me from the opening...I loved it! 'What bucket must I carry? To properly contain all those caring for my soul?' The words in this piece seem to flow off the tongue. I can't exactly describe what I mean, but here's a line from a piece of poetry I wrote, to try and demonstrate what I'm trying to say: "...busy birds are searching for seeds and bugs and crumbs from buns or any bounty left behind." The words you used in this poem have the same sort of 'flowing-off-the-tongue' feel to it...I just can't put what I mean into words! "If I had a prayer, it would be this: God, spare me from the desire for love, approval, or appreciation..." - Byron Katie

Thank you Taurus

People insist I must have a belief.. I insist that I have had beliefs, and that they passed as a phase. What replaced beliefs/philosophical subsciptions? Assurance gained by experience. When I die it will be a Trip To the Horizon, and Beyond.. I have already "seen" this. What "Promise" compares? In ink, Dabbler

This is good

Short and sweet, and real deep, lol. I love the first line, it has so much meaning packed in on so many levels, but my favorite image here is a bucket of slop. you catch that self-righteous, self-important nonsense of "no no no, your belief system is SO wrong" vividly and accurately, and the dry, dismissive way you deal with it is just great. "without casting my final hallucination" is brilliant, what a line! I'm tempted to try it on the next do-gooder that tries to convert me, lol. Wonderful stuff. Thank you Jim

I ask the question of the "concerned", "What is in it for you, if I converted?" The presumption they make is that if you don't believe, you must have never believed.. The exclusion they slight, that no other possible faiths exist. "God hates sinners so much, he sent Christians to torment us." We all kick the bucket, it is perhaps the most personal experience we have, if some wish to preprogram a common Projection/Hallicination fine.. but to insist that without one particular you are doomed to be lost.. Errr I say.. "Mind Your Own Dying!" In ink, Dabbler

David,

I, too, was drawn into that piece by the image of the bucket. It is really deep and you ask some of the most important questions in an almost casual tone. Regards, ~Nina

You've here ...

captured an astonishing depth and brought it to its watery surface. I think any poet's grandest challenge is discovering that those things that cannot be put into words ... can. Thanx. For an inspiring write. For your take on life. For whatever it is about you that cannot (hah!) be put to words. Much appreciated from this corner. Yours, Chuck

here

you take on the role of the poet-seer, my friend, and it doesn't seem like a role at all. there's a sort of shamanistic quality to this poem, as if you dove to the bottom of existence and came back again: i assume that has something to do with your NDE experience. DMT is very dangerous, but i suppose when produced naturally it simply is what it is. i would also venture to say that the hardcore secularists stack wood for believers these days: the cards have been stacked the other way. visionary poem! gb

David

Congrats on the Spotlight, and thank you for such a detailed explanation of DMT. For death and the afterlife, I can only go by what I believe is right - hopefully it's not for naught at the end, as I'll be one pissed off girl! What gets me personally..

is when an obvious minority sets out using fear, and guilt to intimidate nonbelievers in a matter so personal, out right telling people they are wrong to accept other probabilities ( or none at all). Fundamentalist are even critical of the lesser devotee among them, so it is not only the atheist, and skeptic that critique said minority.

Religion is spectlation

Many cultures function fine without religion. Isolated tribes are a fine example of that. Imposing dogma on others ( directly, or indirectly) is arrogant. Imagine if I told you what software you had to put on your computer.

So do you expand that respect,

to those who do not subscribe to beliefs? Are you acceptant to the fact that your belief is just one of many? You are set to breach the stubborness of zealotry, but first you must break the gravity of religionous dogmatism. I would hope you are not the type of person who would walk into someone house/ personal space, and change the channel, or expound upon moralistically about the program they are watching, and how certain you are about the program you recomend will change their life.. Ponder please this anology.
