Sorrow's Sadness

This was a very dark and grey sort of day,
for there was sadness melting from everyone's eyes.
I saw this first hand, for I was there.

True enough, it was definitely a sad state of affairs,
and although not everyone was as sad as the next,
the day was quite sad altogether, nonetheless.

In the spectrum of emotions, sadness definitely has it's place.
For one of sadness's duties is to remind us
of the contrary, "happy times".

Sadness serves this purpose very well.
Have you noticed that the opposite will never, ever happen?
A happy day will never remind you of something extremely sad.

What you'll do is, remember and compare that day to other happy days.
It's like an emotional labyrinth, and you're completely lost,
and to find your way out you must stop searching.

I've been lost many times ,before
and I know better, now.
So, I will treasure and savor both, all of the happy AND the sad days, from now on.

Sappy

A great mix of things and a great write, so I made a new word for both, but as you can see had to use more happiness than sad to do it, keep happy and the other thing will go away, Yours Ian.T

Thanks, Ian.....

....I always get a sense that you know exactly what I mean. Thanks for all of your comments. I had just lost a dear "brother", and was writing about the funeral. You were right, it was both happy, AND sad. Thanks for picking up on that. Later on... #{:>{) doc.

Doc

As we grow into our Winter some of the flowers we knew fade and sometimes die, Mother, Father one brother and a sister were four of my flowers, that were with me in the Summer time, I will dance in the wind with them if we make the wind or we will just be once again gentle with each others ways, as we join them at the end of our learning time here. Your Brother is but a thought away, and the days of Summer when all things were bright can always light your ways. He has not left you, it is that we stand so still here, Go with your own God, or the things you believe in, his waiting is but one breath away. Yours Ian.T

I am deeply touched...

....that you TRULY understand what I've been struggling to say. Ian, I've "hinted" in this regard before, but...you surely have a poet's heart; and I will forever cherish that we have shared "footprints" with our fingers on our keyboards. Thank you, sooo much, for your wisdom...your keen insight....and your way of shaping a "thought", with such a vulgarous of materials as is our vocabulary. A bouquet of smiles, do I give to you...from my heart. #{:>{)}+/ Later, my friend... ..docmaverick !
