Perchance to dream

 In the woods
on my mountain green
I gather wood make a fire
I gather water from my stream
I boil the water add herbs
make  a hot brew

I stand here all aglow
as flames dance
over my naked body
So sad, no one here
to share the after glow

I walk the woods
feeling the cool
breeze of the night
brushing over my body
tingling i feel so alive.

The sound of embers
crackle and fall
This mystic time
I stand so tall

As i witness
the spirits dance in the flames
they fly up to the sky
In this space, so alone am i

So many things i see
Will my heart be melted
by the flames of love
Am I just left to dream
My body longing just for the
slightest touch of your handTo feel your breath upon
my skin, to feel alive
Perchance to dream

Is it a distant memory of
the past creeping back
To remind me of you again
what was what is
what could be

Just you and me
such longing
This heart yearns so
This unbearable
pain

The flames dance
embers glow
A gentle breeze flows
My wind chimes they sing
the melody of the night

Soothing my heartache
My mind wanders
like the breeze
in the tree tops

Like the stream
it flows constantly
Endlessly
As is my lovePerchance to dream

Perchance to dream

When feeling so lost and alone. Even in my studio - anywhere - any room. My walls melt away and I can feel the sun on my face the wind in my hair my body mind and soul so alive. I walk barefoot sometimes to feel the earth beneath my feet. But there is something missing - you. I have my mountain where I can walk the woods day and night. In silence, but it is never silent. The wind in the tree tops sings the melody of the day and night. It brushes against my face just like the touch of a summer breeze, it comforts me embraces me. My stream shimmers and shines in the sunlight,in the moonlight. Stars dance, diamonds shine But it is natures heartbeat such songs it sings to me the melody of the day and night. Calming my spirit, opening me up to a higher being within my soul. But my innerself talks to me. I share the spirit of being one in this special place. But this special place is also where ever you are. There is no one here only me. But strangely I do not feel alone. This spiritual time is like cleansing my mind and soul. I feel refreashed

perchance to comment

E.B., Before I ever knew love, I knew the forest and the streams such as you describe. The love speak of, I can only imagine. Sharing both would be like a story book. A beautiful write indeed. From your heart, I'm sure. wcw

Electric Blue, perchance the

Electric Blue, perchance the dream we all share equally, an alone-ness that bears a continual rebirth into the breaking heart of the One-ness we also learn to find wherever we look. Bow. ~A "All in all, it's just another brick in the wall." Pink Floyd There are no walls except for the ones we build. ~me~

Kailashana Yes. Perchance to dream we all do this. There are many times we feel so alone So invisible to the world. So we look inside and search for the answeres. Only those who have had suffered a broken heart will ever know of the pain the lonliness Of the desertion and abandonment. A hurt we feel is unbearable. All we have left are dreams.

Perchance to dream

WC I can agree with you. I long as I can remember. I wandered the farmers fields the woods too. I call my special place. A place I can go to anytime. physically or in my mind. I am there in an instant. The Apple orchards I did trespass not to take but just to walk and drink in the aroma of my surroundings, As I sit by the stream all alone the only human here to witness the water's endless flow a beautiful glow Always Wishing for someone to share, to feel this magic that is there. You too know of a special place That is full of peace and inner grace But in my mountains my woods too This place to I have it close to my skin, as I feel it within The love I speak of is not imaginary but is shared as is my daydreams with someone who does care just as you, we share A story book indeed a beautiful tale from my heart from my soul A love have I come to know to share so much with the one who stole my heart and soul You share the same dream too. But dreams do come true if you want them too. so be strong.

Maggie,

your sweet, romantic personality shines through in every word here. I really enjoyed this daydream of yours, especially because I myself am a great daydreamer... Hugs, ~Nina

Nina Yes I must be a romantic. I feel I am a spiritual person and that the spirits guided me to these places to join them in the serenity to become one with them. The words written are real in every place sense feeling they are and I long for them again. Places I can go to become whole. But I can transport my spirit there anytime. Thank you for joining my journey Electric blue

I agree with Nina here

You dream us into the woods and into the ever longing for the greatest gift of love. I am a little hung up in the "perchance to dream" which Shakespeare uses in his play "Hamlet" the famous quote "To be or not to be.... ending in this phrase", was this intentional? "To sleep, perchance to dream- ay, there's the rub." You have a Hamlet-like problem in the field of love but not the heavy background troubles he had. Very nice Maggie (British like me) Ann of Norway

Perchance to dream

Ann I know of Shakespear of course but not read through his works. I am always afraid of using his very words. This is one of the reasons I do not read the great poets work because of this. I know of the titles of the plays. But I had not realised this was one of his lines or part of one of his lines. I was just daydreaming of returning to my special places. As I need to be there again for peace joy and serenity of being one and sharing with the elements.to go on my earth and spirit walk I am glad I was able to take you on my journey Electric blue

With the breezes of Spring wafting about among the busy birds

Ann of Norway The only thing that would prompt me to say do read William Shakespeare's works, would be to be influenced, just as you say you are by the rhythms and movements of nature, and those rhythms of thought that they inspire; to see and feel and hear those in the nature of Shakespeare's words in order to find the harmony of rhythm enough to translate it into your own poetry. You will not find that you use his words, as you have your own beautiful words I know, but they would feel familiar and give you a joy which you cannot experience from the everyday language around you. On the other hand, I too am not well read in the works I SHOULD HAVE READ; or so THEY say!!! Whoever 'they' are; and as you say I have not filled my head with things of little interest to myself, selective. I am perhaps influenced somewhat by the poets of the 1800's and early 1900's but my words are my own, even then. What I am hinting at is the rhythm of your poem here which in a few places is slightly less flowing for me when I read it out loud. WE are here to help if we can, I am no schooled poet and yet have read many, including French and Norwegian, but in the end the words come from yourself. Just my feelings dear Maggie, I love you imagery and some of the little details in this poem are like smiling gems as they cling their thoughts onto the mind's eye and sound deep into our 'souls.' Love to you Maggie, with the breezes of Spring wafting about among the busy birds and trees, there is one tree just look, out there, with a crown of pale green lording it among the still bare purple and pale beige of early birch branches so beautiful every changing season, like that of people in their ever changing growth of understanding. Perchance to dream

Janice I hope you can dream just let yourself go and be one with the spirits. Take a walk in the park or garden. Sit quitely taking in all around you. Listen to the gentle breeze as it whispers to you. Watch the movement of the leaves in the branches. Look at the gentle flowers move and be at peace my friend I hope I can inspire you. Electric blue

Perchance to dream

Ann Thank you for your beautiful comments. Most of my poetry is me streaming dreaming not intentional but just is until the last word then i read. I want to take others on a journey and share them with me as a wondering spirit on the breeze drifting along looking for somewhere to belong Still looking. I know where I want to be ............ This year so far has not been that good with mama passing away but I was able to get my last hug and stroke her hair which she love me to brush for her before braiding it for before she slept it was still silky soft to the touch she is now laid to rest in a casket of the most beautiful blue. I was able to walk my mountain green for some spiritual meditation down by the riverside seems to be the best I am still waiting for a light to shine. I am inspired by so many things a word a song nature as I drift along I hear a voice the same voice deep in my soul drawing me back to the same place.......... Enjoy the day Electric Blue
