FLOCK TESTIMONY

FLOCK TESTIMONY

A tapper had a friend

Himself a tapper too

Into the swamps of Ntong Edong

They went on a tapping spree

Up and down the raffia palms

They called out kukuruku

Kukuruku was replied

To keep a close contact

One fell down from the height

To the muddy wild plant floor

He called out Kukuruku

With speed, came down his friend

To the rescue as communicated

On Sunday testimony

He needed an interpreter

For the guest of foreign tongues

But he volunteered to convey

In English he couldn’t speak

What you hear is rumble jumble

As he licked his lips along

Up up to the teteri-mountain

Edong asin nkwai

Teteri-mountain Abasi Ibom enyong

Only Akukuruku…

rumble jumble testimony..poem

T.R., This fine poem swept me along on the journey of the friends. The last portion is "rumble jumble" to me, and I can still feel it. Nice.wcw

Thanks

The tapper insisted on giving the testimony himself without an interpreter and through out the narration, the words like up, mountain and only were English words. You can imagine the laughter that erupted from the congregation. For the reading and comments, I appreciate. Best wishes. T.
