A Real-life Response

I try and be flexible
in my life, so to rearrange
my thinking and my actions
in preparation for sudden change,
that way life won't show me
as an individual "strange".

The 'morrow brings a plethora
of different things to see,
with hopefully, keen insights
so I'll stray not, from being me.
Plus rolling with the punches
I'll be happy, ultimately.

January is upon us
and with it the new year, too;
so how you dance with destiny
will help to make you.....you.
I can't control what's coming
but I can, with what I do.

The future is exciting,
I can't wait to see what's next.
The worse thing I could do to me
is not respond to life's text.
So I'll wait and see what the 'morrow brings
and see if I'll have any effects.

An ambitious piece with an ambitious theme. Trying to retain (or to regain) control over our lifes is a universal theme. I cannot believe nobody´s commented yet. There are a few rough patches, though: ll.9,10,16&22 would read even better without the commas. You could give l.14 one of the spare commas (in front of "with it"). "but I can, what all I do."(l.18) reads a little awkwardly. Do you mean to say: "but I can with all I do" or "but I will be able to" or maybe "but I can, what´s all I do"? I would love to read it once again when you have smoothed it a little more. Respectfully, Ink Dragon P.S.: l.21 worse->worst?
