TENDABA CAMP
TENDABA CAMP We took a trip to Tendaba camp
Through the plains of Lower River region
Where the serene ambience of the park On the north border of Casamance Welcomed us to the temple of love Where it all began, in supplicating spirit To renew that which has been blessed Two cycles of seven have passed The years have a lot of stories to tell Flowing Like waters of River Gambia We were two trying to be one In return our prayers were blessed Two times two plus two is six And after the addition it became one One happy family living together Sharing in campfire dance and chorus The raconteur sang of forest house Where young boys were circumcised To mark their passage into manhood And girls danced to welcome them We camped in huts and slept on the floor Away from the exasperating city noise Where traffic jam and vehicles hoot Living like this will stress you up And take humanity away from you So when you work, take a leave Purge the pressure from the hassles Forget your worries and care a little less For the mundane things of the world You will be shocked how well you heal— t. reflexion, Jan 08, 2009
