Model Prisoner

Friends find it easy to make fun
Of his imprisoned eyes,
Held captive by her online pics,
Well-picked to glamorize!

But not skin-deep, for him at least,
The beauty they deride:
'Tis in his heart her pictures dwell,
And ever shall abide.

Maybe he is not in love with

Maybe he is not in love with HER, but only with the alluring images of her he finds on the Internet. After all, we have no evidence in the poem that he even has communicated with--let alone met and gotten to know--her as a person. Yet is his sentiment for that reason superficial and ridiculous? The poem hopes to leave it to the reader... Thanks!
