Wonder...
..something that's there to surprise you.
Wonder...
..something that leaves doubt, if it is true.
Wonder.

Truth...
..is something you've got left, after you're wrong.
Truth...
..helps us sing reality's dim song.
Truth.

Reason...
..is something one keeps close to the vest.
Reason...
..helps discern true value from all the rest.
Reason.

Gratitude...
..is love in it's truest form.
Gratitude...
..will help to keep your soul, warm.

Hi doc

I like the importance you give to gratitude in the last stanza ('love in its highest form') because I often think I have never been grateful enough to the many people who have lent me a helping hand over the years. I suppose that compassion, sympathy and empathy are also important forms of love. Best Wishes, Robert.

You are exactly right, Robert...

....however, when "push came to shove"...I guess I lent towards Gratitude being the "ceiling" of all of those other important things that you mentioned. Believe, you...me, I wrestled with what to lead with; in that last stanza. Thanks for the keen insight, truly ! Sincerely, #{:>{)+/ doc.
