losing sight

like pieces from a jigsaw

spots of vision tumble down

down, down into murky depths

were sight is but a blurred reality

peering through the bubbled haze

trying to swim the maze of

emerging darkness and fear

drifting aimlessly through the floaters

and I drown in the sinister gray

as it sets in like a tidal wave

HI

I know how it feels to lose sight, athough it is just for temporary. My late grandpa suffered from severe glaucoma before he died, and that explains it. This is such a poem that explains not-so-extraordinary subject with extraordinary poetic voice. Love it. and good luck with your eyesight. HUG ZARUL

Emarie,

I'm sorry you have to go through such a hardship as this. Your poem is explains it well. I like the way you compare your ills with the damage water can cause. I wish you well my friend. If there is anything I can do, I'm here. Live, Laugh and Love (and don't forget to write) Tink

I know the feeling. I suffer with glaucoma. I had two surgery and the doctor wants to do another. I am glad to still be seeing. The doc place an eye med valve in to reduce to pressure in my right eye and stop me from going totally blindness. Glaucoma Rule as king in my family. Sorry to hear you are losing sight. Hope you will be spared with treatment. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Emarie,

you really seem to be losing something at the moment... don´t get me wrong, this is a great write, but where have all the colours gone? If this is autobiographical, you have me worried. You´re not turning into theladygrey? Best wishes for 2009, Ink

hey everyone!

thanks so much for all the well wishes! i am and will always be The Lady Blue...never fear... have you ever noiced the way a rainbow almost seems to glow against a greyed sky?...every color has its place... what i have is pseudo tumor cerebral and basically it is mimicing a brain tumor and putting pressure on my eyes causing my optic nerve to swell...with treatment it should get better soon...its just scary to think i may actually loose a portion of my sight... love you all and thanks again so much!!! and just to echo Anna~ All in all, its just another brick in the wall... <3 Emarie @~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@~~~~~~~@ "Tempted by your Tainted Love I sure do love the way you come inside my crystal ball..." Loosing Sight

Marie I did consider calling myself The Blue Lady or The Lady Blue But I went for Electric Blue. Why is it, that so many of us poets artist musicians who rely on sight more suffer with the loss in some way. I am glad that you have been able to get this diagnosed and receiving treatment. I hope they can remove or treat this for you my friend. My discovery about my possible sight loss came about this way. I have always worn glasses and lenses. I heard about lazer treatment so no lenses. I went for tests and it was the best thing i did. I myself was told I had Foukes Distrophy. I had never heard of this before I was told that it was that my eyes were disintergrating. I asked how did i get it? The answer given was you have always had it. I asked what is the cure? How do i go about getting something done now? I was told, there is not cure. You will eventually go blind. I asked what can i do about it. They offered me an operation. Similar for glocoma sufferes. What they did was laser my pupils. Inserted lenses inside the eye. That my vision will stay as is. So i paid £6000 pounds privately, for this operation. I have never been able to see so well. I am told by the surgeon that my sight. Will stay like this forever. I do have glocoma in the family too Your poetry is amazing my friend and it is what is inside of you that comes out. You have a magic and insight. You have a wonderful way with words. Maybe someday I may be able to write somethng as inspiring as you my friend.
