kisses upon my lips

i should squeeze out a poem
tonight
if only i could
remember the one
begging to enter
my mouth
spilling words
you will never forget
because the howling wind
has died down now
and the cat is
purring at my feet,

but tomorrow is another
day,
should I awaken with
the brush of kisses on my lips,
another poem.

Hi there

I liked the night-time quietness after the wind died down and just left the purring of the cat. Peace and quiet and no distractions are vital to writing poetry (at least for me). I hope you woke up to morning kisses, too, as you seemed to hope would happen... Best Wishes, Robert.

Robert, my fate is to be

Robert, my fate is to be alone, though I am loved from near and afar... so the kisses are from my Lover, my Muse, Poetry... I am Rumi, Shamless ;-) ~A "All in all, it's just another brick in the wall." Pink Floyd There are no walls except for the ones we build. ~me~

Sorry

Sorry, but what does 'Rumi' mean? Best Wishes, Robert. P.S. The idea of you being loved everywhere but still being alone is hard for me to grasp.

Anna,

you capture the elusive nature of inspiration very astutely in this one. Waiting for the poem of the next day, Ink

god woman

"should I awaken with the brush of kisses on my lips," when god kisses mouths his breath enters and such rare air circulating can only issue through spaces as poetry exhalations howling through embers sending sparks flying back to heaven the best letters of awakening are "ing" as processes can only be in present moments you are a Dervish in Cleveland -Michael
