The Diary of a Bird with Broken Wings - I

Instead of accepting

The crown of cosmic consciousnessI writhe and  I squirmIn the agony of  daunting ignoranceUnable to direct my awarenessTo life’s subtle innuendoesInviting me intoThe ever widening expansesOf an inner realm I know that I shall never be at peace untilI sip from the chaliceLife holds out to me;  untilI hold still and allowThe inner stirrings to eruptInto a full bloodedAll encompassing knowingnessExperienced by the knower; untilThe clarity of a pristine consciousnessPouring into a crystal bowlIs reflected by a million eyes  But alasI shall not be willingTo exchange this stateOf inner discordanceFor oneMore amenableTo the complacencyOf  peace and tranquillityFor this discordance; this disharmonyShall not be assuaged untilI open my heartTo the light beyondThe pale of darknessThe openness beyondThe bars of confinement

Leonard,

you portray the troubles that befall everyone searching for the light, no matter what we call that light. I can relate, especially to the feeling of loss, like a bird with a broken wing, and the fierce wish to get the feeling back, yet hesitating to reach out and grab it... Another fine write, thanks for sharing, ID

ink said it

I could say more but in my current mood would come out cynical and nasty. I applaude the search and only maintain the striving is all, there is no end, no enlightenment. Bloody well written and am touched by your sincerity, which means I am not quite lost in cynicism. So very good poetry, you make me question me. cheers, Jess "A poet's work: to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world and stop it going to sleep." Great Piece

the words, the values, and the searching, goes on and holds us there with you. I think this is a better than great piece of writing. A mirror will only show you the outside, pure thought will show you the inside where that light is so bright, Yours, Ian.T

Leonard, the crown of cosmic

Leonard, the crown of cosmic consciousness is already yours, all you have to do is to open yourself into it...BE it... Great poem... bow. ~A "Speech is blasphemy. Silence a lie. Above speech and silence is a way out." I-tuan.

Hi Ana

Great to hear from you. Yes, I fully agree with you, all one has to do is to open oneself to the infinite and become it. The crown of cosmic consciousness could also be interpreted as the crown of Thorns thrust on Jesus' Head, reminding him that the way to salvation lies in transcendending the physical realm. Yours ... Leonard...

another profound writing... the only way to reach inner peace is to accept the rest of the world's rage... a hard line to walk on... but there it is... we cannot walk the line for anyone else, but those around us can witness the stride... I think in many ways you have reached your cosmic state... we are all flawed in the great nature of things... and only unsure of our wings... I loved the poem Leonard... I was so moved by its depth... Richard

The Diary

Leonard, Truly a thought provoking piece~ My personal favorite: the last five lines: " I open my heart To the light beyond This pale of darkness The openess beyond The bars of confinement" ______________________________________________________ Income-tax forms should be more realistic by allowing the taxpayer to list "Uncle Sam" as a dependent Anonymous
