My Year 'Round Gift

I am eternally grateful.

There are so many things
that have a way of warming my heart.

Hot soup on a cold day,
a sentimental scene,
be it either from a movie or real life;

or maybe even the joy of a giggle,
that can climb it's way up a throat,
and then turn into pure laughter
so genuine, that it can't possibly be embarrassing.

I'm also very grateful

that life shares so many of these things,
mostly being items that are situational.

Not as isolated incidents,
but rather, more a reaction by a warm and gentle soul.
That's where tears of joy come in.

Christmas reminds me of such a sentiment.
One that can free a heart,
and allow a soul to soar with the souls of others;
and you, help give me that gift year 'round. Thank you.

Giggles

I like this poem, especially the description of a giggle. I also like sentimental scenes in movies, such as those you mention. I usually cry when I see them, which is embarrassing for a man (I try to hide my tears) but emotionally cleansing. Best Wishes, Robert.

BOTH of your...

....comments, caused me to be sentimental and to cry....and there's no "hiding it". All seriousness aside, thanks for BOTH remarks. This was a special piece, for me. #{:>{)+ doc.
