Festive Poem Soup
(From the literary critic`s cook book)
¼ cup nouns
¼ cup chopped adjectives
¼ cup all purpose adverbs
1 can verb broth
1 can evaporated pronouns
2 large or 3 medium metaphors
rhyme and
ground alliteration to taste
4 strips similes, cooked and crumbled
½ cup shredded parallelism
3 tablespoons sliced oxymorons
- Melt nouns in large saucepan over medium heat. Add adjectives, cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 minutes or until tender. Stir in adverbs. Gradually stir in verb broth and evaporated pronouns.
- Scoop metaphor pulp from one metaphor, mash. Add pulp to word broth mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture just comes to a boil.
- Dice remaining metaphor skin and metaphors, add to poem soup. Heat through. Season with rhyme and alliteration.
- Top each serving with simile, parallelism and oxymoron.
Makes 4 servings.
Variation: For a different twist to this recipe omit the simile, parallelism and oxymoron. Cook 2 tablespoons of shredded paradoxon with the adjectives and add ¼ teaspoon of dried irony to the poem soup. Proceed as above.
