My God's Honor

Fate would put a man in pain
with a propensity to drink;
and all would wonder about a "lush"
wanting relief, don't you think?

If I look at things another way
my God of Gods is the best!
God would rather I not suffer,
so I've been given a special "test".

Now, depending how I react
to this place where I do live,
will be equal to my blessings
God's promised me, to give.

I mean not to sound "Hallmarkie",
but, I'm feeling like a "goner";
the pain's been much too great for me,
but, I will defend God's honor.

I don't think I'm the only one
suffering on this globe,
so, I thank God for giving me
the patience of poor Job.

I hear your pain, but this

I hear your pain, but this poem is a step back for you, poetically. I am glad you saw the failings in this yourself, I need say no more. cheers, Jess "They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" Benjamin Franklin.
