The Dark One...

The story echoes through breath,
the legend through the halls of timeI do not remember when I laid eyes on him        but, I do remember the wind dying,        the light being killed by the darkness in the heavensThe night became eternal,        the howling beasts rested on the wind.

Despair drew a dark vale across the land
the earth dried as the dark horse strode across the skyI remember eternity burning infinitely in one moment of time,        one drop from the angel's eye.

We burnt in the flame of Hades        ushered in by screams that rang through the endless night...

Purgatory.I knew I would not see him leave...I knew that a moment was all that was left... I knew his time had come, his presence undying, his foul brimstone
         breath would be the last...

All a bit angsty and turgid.

Read Dante, Milton and others, especially early Catholic poets. Hell has been amply described in poetry. Perhaps a new angle or new topic? cheers, Jess "They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" Benjamin Franklin.
