Constant Rewind

Constant Rewind

I woke a blessing today
To see the dawn amid my blinds
To smell the winters’ frost and chill
Preparing lives to hibernate
I embrace the sun melting frost,
Moreover, smile at the dusk cool breezes

However, upon my bed tonight
My thoughts rewind throughout the night

Lovely and flavours in it

cherish these lines

"to smell the winters frost and chill" so much of it like living by the sea for the first day like feeling an august forest fire in your lungs like the death that hovers near sickness frost and chill like my Robin I saw the other day singing still brightly before the cold nights his chest brilliant like a touch of sun forgotten like winters brush missed a great poem Barbara

Yes, a great poem Barbara,

that opening line "I woke a blessing today" is just awesome, and only the humility, mindfulness and pain of the ensuing lines allow it to stand. Your waking up was both a blessing given and received. cheers, Jess
