Off the Hook !

Our children are off the hook !
Exactly, what direction are they going ?
Some of them put me sooo at ease,
until I see what the others are showing.

I believe there's good in everyone
and that helps keep me from feeling, "sad";
the problem that I'm having now,
is that percentage of them that is bad !

And I am not being judgemental,
I wouldn't do that in my wildest dreams;
but with drive-byes, gang murders, and robberies,
our kids are off the hook, so it seems.

Which brings me back to my reason for writing,
my one, major dire concern.
Our good kids won't have much of a future,
if we never teach them something worthwhile to learn.
