A Reply to a Call
I heard you call me againBrother,SisterAnd it was not a botherI confessed, what a comforter The vibrations of yours drumsHave yet not mutedThey still clap in my earsThey have not quietedAt least, not yetAnd I hope for years I have heard your call,My brother,And sister, it’s no botherNot at all Though the world is crushing on meAnd life’s pitiless tempestsHit and sway me here and thereAnd others have given up on meYou still called out to meTo come out of my hideAnd be counted among the eminent I heard your call, NEOPOETAnd I am out of that quietPlace into the team againWith my head, high in esteem
