God is Tampering with my Fate

Should we begin?
I guess I want to understand,
Everything… and how it’s supposed to be
Did God, craft me with his own hands?
Did he change everything I should have been?
My heart? My soul?
Did he change you?

I sit imperfect
Like a stale pile of leaves, just blowing in the wind
I sit impatient
Like a man who is just waiting to die

What was the point of everything, we ever did?
What was the point in feeling, the way we did?

I sit absent of my own mind
I sit absent in your heart

How should it end, and how will it?
I guess I wanted to understand,
Everything I could never figure out
Did God craft me with his own hands?
Did he make a mistake, or am I supposed to be this way?
My heart… my soul?
Or did he change you?

Nicely written

Questions we all ask once in a while. Respectfully, Rett: "Next time you think you're perfect, walk on water."

Funny,

BlueHalcyon and I were having this conversation last night in the chatroom. You wrote a superb piece here about the aspects of ourselves and God that we will never be able to wrap our minds around. That is why we're called to faith. You did well to italicize your thoughts, allows the reader to be attached and empathize emotionally with you, and disconnect while maintaining awareness from the narrative. Mark W. Galatians 5:22-23 "22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against these, there is no law!" My favorite verse(s) in the Bible

Wow

I came to your poem as a challenge from a friend in the chatroom. We were supposed to go to page 90 and pick a poem to read & then write a poem related to that. I find it very ironic that this was the first one on the page when I checked page 90, since last night we had been having a theology discussion and I mentioned some of the very phrases in your poem. I have asked some of the very same exact questions you posed in this poem and felt the same way here recently as science has affected my view on God. "I sit impatient Like a man who is just waiting to die" Sometimes I feel like the answers that I seek - I won't find until death and that feels like it's too long to wait for such important knowledge. I really enjoyed this piece - keep up the great work and I look forward to reading more of your poetry.
