Counterfeit
My heart is counterfeit, thin, and current
Creased neatly with a fold in my wallet
A cavernous secret
Coming out to cooperate swiftly, if only when needed
Ha, needed
Is an exchange of pleasantries needed?
One might prosecute electricity for such a crime
My heart will not be prosecuted
How can you act against something that doesn’t exist?
Sure, it’s physically there
As are photos of the loch ness monster
It’s what’s inside of the photo that counts
And inside each and every photo is a toy dinosaur
A counterfeit
