Eclectic Bag of Beliefs

Into my eclectic bag of beliefs

I stuff untold numbers of tapestries

woven from joy’s precious days and grief’s

cheerless realities.  Pictures that tease

the senses and party on past regrets

fill up the fast diminishing spaces,

tied up in granny knots, causing upsets

if undone.  Unrecognizable faces,

inexpressible places jam the landscape

of memories past, recall people past.

From the fabric of time there’s no escape.

It’s the way life is done; the die is cast;

I will arrive at home on death’s doorstep

with excess baggage, craving still more depth.

Deelilah I really related to and enjoyed this, there is something very clever about your use of line breaks and punctuation that give it an ineffably apt flow, cheers, Jess

I am glad you liked this

Especially the timing. It started out a sonnet, which I learned after the fact did not meet the rules. So it was a sonnet gone bad. Thank you for the comment. It made me smile. Dee

Thank you

for reading this and commenting. I like your saying. It makes me think and wonder about things beyond language, the things we know, but have no words to describe. Dee
