The New Emerald City
There are a plethora of preponderances,
and a myriad of matters on my mind;
like why so many people go out of their way
to be mean, when it's easier to be kind.
For instance, I wouldn't pay to eat beef off the ground,
but I do enjoy eating my ground beef;
but how about the the fact there's so many Indians
who all think they aught to be chief.
Why, is it something "bad" that one hears
from people one do not even "play",
everyone not in the mood becomes a critic,
how I wish these folks would just go away.
They say that the children are our future
but that's frightening, what with all of their "fads";
how can our future embarrass themselves,
not to mention their Moms and their Dads?
Then, there's the puppet politicians
with their empty promises and also their greed,
they're sidetracked by their personal agendas
trying not to get caught, as they "lead"!
It's like we're all living in the Land of Oz,
where our hopes and dreams have all faded,
that Emerald City hasn't got much on us,
considering how completely we're all "jaded"!
and a myriad of matters on my mind;
like why so many people go out of their way
