What if All the Weapons of the World Disappeared?

What If All the Weapons of the World Disappeared?

1.

What if all the weapons of the world
disappeared right before our eyes?
no sword, or gun, tanks or missiles,
weapons of mass destruction?

Would words still tear us apart, harm
the delicate skin we're in?

Would our lips be enough to create
the thin red line of separation?

The distance between you and I?
Naked and homeless?

Would Judas hang from a tree? Would
Thomas doubt? Would Peter weep rivers
of denial?

Would the streets of Gethsemane line with women,
weeping?

Would nails be used to pound this flesh,
form our sacred living temple?

...there in the ashes... of what was....

2.

America Your Soul Bleeds

America your soil bleeds
and you bleed the soil and sand
of other lands so far way,
is oil the price we must pay
for our fair share of the market?

Have you lost your soul and paid
the piper? Are Monsanto rats breeding
inside the bulging carpet bags
of multinational global corporations?

Are the patriots turning over in their graves?

The flag of the United States has been draped
over too many coffins and your puppets
all over the world are being disposed.

America your Soul bleeds.
