Three Wednesday Haikus

Cold bodies curl near
flickering flames of fire light
like moths to a lamp

---------------------------------------------

Caterpillar silk
hangs loose over dew laden
sun-kissed berry leaves

--------------------------------------------

Dark falls on silent
unsuspecting little creatures
who move about by day

I Tried!

I tried to read them all out with one breath... I got so close. I failed just after "dark falls on silent". 3 beautiful pieces you have here

thanks, Hilton!

Interesting endeavor... read all three together. I guess they do kind of all make sense! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "The term "paranoid" would seem to indicate a lack of preparation.... I prefer to be labled "hypervigilant"

Short n' sweet

Nice images, good flow within the haiku structure and excellent word choices. Re-count your syllables in the second line of the third, though. I count eight, but only in that one. The others all have the traditional 5,7,5. Normally, I'd say the definition of a haiku has grown and changed some with modern versions, but I know you were working with traditional here. You did a great job with these, Jess! ~ Ronda
