Give Me Flesh And Blood Real

Give me flesh and blood real
like this Clementine I peel,
see how the blossom bears fruit?
even my fingers know this,
I can't shadow dance
and still feel your burning touch
on the hollow of my back,
your breath on my neck
where the pulse throbs,

I can't listen to memories
swirling in my head

leave you stone temples
leave your prasad
leave your carnations and tiger lilies
your jasmine incense,
there,
at the door,
come
to me
empty handed
and whole-hearted.

love me the way I am.
full of the moon and
angry tears
and I'll love you just because,
just because
you are real.

Give Me Flesh and Blood Real

Kailashana, A very passionate poem. Beautiful conclusion - to love someone because he is real and not just an image in thoughts. Enchanting expression. -Mohammad

nice, Anna

Sometimes just having remnants of is not good enough: a stuffed toy, a shirt, his cologne - it's got to be the flesh and blood which stands before you. Excellent write. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "The term "paranoid" would seem to indicate a lack of preparation.... I prefer to be labled "hypervigilant"

Your quote of Sufi saying is awe-inspiring. Have you heard of the Sufi that used to say ANAL HAQ (I am God)? -Mohammad

Yes. Mansur… I’ve read

Yes. Mansur... I've read different versions. I can't find that one I read several years ago when my computer crashed. It was the most beautiful one. A rose was part of this story... and a friend who betrayed him. Are we speaking of the same one? They cut off his arms... then his legs. And still he continued saying *Anal Haq*. Salams. ~A "I searched for God and found only myself. I searched for myself and found only God." Sufi proverb.

Anna

Awesome write! My favorite part of it all is this... love me the way I am. full of the moon and angry tears That is so awesome! I may be hard pressed to think of any part of a poem that had more impact than that right there. Such a statement. Well done. Respectfully, Rett: "Did you ever notice that the politicians who want to ban gun ownership are the very ones that should be shot anyway?" Rett: 2008

‘there, at the

'there, at the door, come to me empty handed and whole-hearted. ' Not sure about everyone else, but that has always been exactly what I search for, and have been blessed enough to find. These words are all well crafted, but this for me made me silent for a time, to just let it seep in.

Mansur of 'Anal Haq' fame

There was only one Mansur of 'Anal Haq' fame in the annals of history. The period is that of Moghul King Aurang Zaib's rule. Mansur used to walk on the streets of Delhi without any clothes on him. Crown Prince Dara Shekoh, who was himself a Scholar used to revere him. Dara died at the hands of Aurang Zaib.Mansur is reported to be slain by Aurang Zaib on the steps of Jama Masjid, Delhi, in punishment of the words he uttered while praying in the Mosque and for leaving the prayer abruptly. He was reported to have said, "Tera Khuda meray pair kay neechay" (your god is under my feet). A treasure was later discovered on digging the place where he was praying. His disciples later explained that prayers ought to be with absolute devotion to God and not mixed with lust for money as was the case with the Imam of the Mosque leading the prayer. I think there is a shrine of Sufi Mansur in Delhi. -Mohammad

The version annexed is totally new to me. I don't know which version to believe. Regards. I can't lay my hand on any book in Portugal on this subject. -Mohammad
