What you have learned

Listening to a soliloquize of life,
while she speaks through clenched
teeth, only seeing pearly whites,

words not spoken in anger, features
that seem to express hidden pain,

words that are taken on wings and
show images in the air of a younger
life,

conveying a story of beautiful affairs,
so beautiful are her words that they
create truth of all that has passed,

but I can't get passed what I see with
my eyes, a life filled with so many
grays that have caused so much pain,

she stops and realizes that I'm
contorting my face, not at the words,
but what i see with my eyes,

close your eyes and listen, she said.
Life is lived from the inside,

what you see is a road map that
indicates the path i have taken to
reach the other side,

a gauntlet of loss, pain, and sorrow
I have seen and passed, leaving it's
marks on my outsides,

but in my insides the road is smooth
and easy to travel, I have nothing
but days of mirth and sunshine,

Please don't feel sad for me at what
you see, because the beauty I have
seen in humanity has out weight all
the contours you see on my face,

I am filled with the elixir of cheerfulness
and a heart bigger then life,

those who take have very little and those
who give have a full lot in life, can you see
in your mind, now that you have closed
your eyes,

never be fooled by what you see, but rejoice
on what you have learned.

soliloquy weighed Well based poem . The only problem I had reading it was the use of see and seeing throughout the work. Perhaps there are other words you may use Chrys
