population

As the population risesThere will be no big surprisesWe’ll start running out ofOil, land and food. I’ve no wish to be pedanticBut, both sides of the AtlanticAre getting far too crowded,It’s a fact So if every single NationCould reduce their populationWe could keep the planet, More or less Intact

I gave up smoking last week, but then I thought, “Hey’ I don’t want people calling me a quitter”

population

There are parts of the earth that is unpopulated. Yeah our planet plenty big enough, but the cites are like putting a quart in the pint pot like your granny use to say. I like country living, space, open plains, fields. I think that how we were design to enjoy life here on earth. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Quite interesting. It tends to get a wee bit crowded at times. Interesting that here in America we here a lot of talk about losing space and then if you look up the population stats and all you come to find out that less than 5% of the land area in the USA is populated. Here in Texas if you get into the western part of the state and even some of the south western parts you can drive for hours w/o seeing a human or seeing a car. I have driven all day and not seen a living soul. *LOL* Good write, enjoyed it. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby" Rett: 2008

We should do like China... one kid per household, and that's it. Anything more should come with dire consequences..... especially since there are a number of people that have children out of convenience: "it's ok, the gov't will pay for it!" Or the babies having babies because all her friends were foolin' around and it's the "cool" thing to do. Yet, like Rett, there have been times where I've driven, and there was NOTHING. And I liked it.... ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes."

I know I’m exaggerating a

I know I'm exaggerating a bit, but it feels a bit like the whole of England is a building site, with new houses going up wherever you look. I'm not sure of the exact figures but I do believe we are amongst the most densely populated countries in the world yet we still keep letting more people in. John

John I have to agree there

England and Northern Ireland would fit inside the state of Texas with a little room left over and yet your population makes us look like uninhabited territory. There is only so much more land available in England before everything has to start building for the sky. Respectfully, Rett: "Did you ever notice that the politicians who want to ban gun ownership are the very ones that should be shot anyway?" Rett: 2008

Rett, you are lucky that you

Rett, you are lucky that you still have wide open spaces, we still have them here but they are full of tourists, seems like you just cant get away from people. John

I saw a movie once

The weight of the ship was way too much and the cargo too precious so they tossed some people over. Lets see, who is tossable LOOL OR who to keep? Birth control researchers - keep those folks. All cold blooded killers - over LOOL did I make a dent yet? Good one Shaz ! Man thinks this.

Perhaps we could start with

Perhaps we could start with the politicians, they keep banging on about the shortage of housing here, the problem is not a housing shortage, its the fact that there are too many people in the country. John

Don't worry John...

Our leaders are aware of the problem of over-population... they are looking for the safest place to hold the next world war... this is supposed to be a funny statement... but if you let it sink in... Richard

And it wouldn’t surprise

And it wouldn't surprise at all if that was what they all had planned, I think that slowing the birth rate might be a better option, don't you ? John
