School report

He’s a clever lad,

He can pass each test

But he never ever

Gives his best

He finds it easy

Learning facts, but

Always questions

And attacks

The things that we

All take as right

He’ll contest;

With all his might

He wants to know

The ins and outs

Cool and calm

Never shouts.

He will argue

Black is blue

Because it’s written

Is it true?

Metaphorically

Tearing books to shreds

And messing with

The teachers’ heads.

He’s a clever lad

And we discern

He needs another

Place to learn

Good grief Lonnie, that’s

Good grief Lonnie, that's jolly nice of you to say so, I have tried, on many occasions, to compose some serious stuff, but it nearly always ends up with a punchline. So I'm sticking with what I know and what I enjoy, because after all, I only started writing for my own pleasure, but if I can share with others who enjoy it too, then thats a bonus. John

Shaz

I admire anyone that is like the person in your poem. It shows a willingness to know everything in,out, and through the bag - and a fearless quest for knowledge. Bravo! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes."

Jess, as this is based on a school report I had at the age of 14 I feel somewhat embarrassed by your comment, my teachers never appreciated my quest for enlightenment, they merely looked on me as a disruptive influence (even tho I was right, well most of the time) Barbara, thanks again for yet another nice comment.
