Remembrance Day

The Lord's tears,
will be a reminder
to us all.
On this sad day.

As we remember
those,In spirit.
Who with us stay.

As with the going down
of the sun.
Long shadows fall,
as we remember
one and all.

As we travel
all life through.
The shadows of the fallen
We give to you

A reminder
Of the freedom
today, to us
given.

Least we forget
They will never ever
feel the warmth
of a new sunrise

Or see the beauty of,
the going down.
At the end of the day.

Of One more,
big Red,
setting sun.

And a wonderful tribute it is

To the brave souls who paid the ultimate price for our and others freedom. Can you hear it? softly in the distance, the soft sound of Taps as the sun sets on a lonely bugler among the graves of those gone. Thank you Electricblue. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby" Rett: 2008

Remembrance Day

hello Rett Maybe you can look at Ode of Remembrance Flanders Field lost souls - LANGERMARK My friend, so sad all these lost souls still crying out in the darkness. Why do we not listen. Seeing the statue of the four young soldiers at the gateway of the graveyard with the sunset lighting them up. You were there as these young men cling together in this madness. As all they have are each other. Electric Blue maggie

Rett

To this day I have a hard time listening to Taps. Every Memorial Day, and Veteran's Day, there were services held. Military in full dress uniform, Taps, and a 21 gun salute. Sends shivers up your spine - and Dad missed not a one... nor did I. Maggie - another beautiful tribute! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes."

Remembrance Day

When my father-in-law passed away in April, he was buried with full military honors. Taps, the presentation of the flag to the wife ... I'd never experienced any of it in person. If I thought it was emotional to see it in the news or in a movie, I truly had no idea how it tears at you until you are right there. I stood behind my mother-in-law, hands on her shoulders, as she sat and accepted the flag from the Navy. I haven't been able to see it without crying since. Although I've never been fond of rhyme, you've used it naturally here, utilizing flow and emotion perfectly. Beautiful tribute, Maggie. ~ Ronda

Remembrance Day

Ronda Again I did not see the words until it was written. My tears flow onto the paper and fell into words. My heart so full of injustice and loss of life. As long as we Remember least they fall. They will live forever electricblue
