Part 5: A Damaged Brain Exposed

Part 5: A Damaged Brain Exposed

Don't get me thong, wrough.

The small amount I do
understand (or think I do)---

what I do pick up
for mindful inspection---

is quite wonderful and inspires
dithyrambic awe.

Ein Wunderschoner Anblick
bietet sich dem Augen.

I erceive, phowever, sobered
by the knowledge that it's just---

to borrow, and with impudence
attach, an adjective or adverb
or two to a massic cletaphor---

a minute piece (that I see)
of the patiently docile elephant
that overreaching blind
and presuming people like me
foolishly try to depict through
the use of symbols.

By words, I mean.

---------

Sometime we see a cloud that's
     dragonish,
A vapor sometime like a bear
     or lion,
A towered citadel, a pendant rock,
A forked mountain or blue
     promontory
With trees upon't that nod
     unto the world
And mock our eyes with air ...
                                     ---Shakespeare
---------

Perhaps I am bewildered
at least to some degree.

This from someone
who thinks a doily
makes a great handerchief.

Potential's better than none.

I gladly accept---

though with two fingers
firmly crossed---

a reality

(that is, that I might
be educable)

that may be at base but my brain's
way of backwards falling into
a goosedown's measure of comfort!

Mental der kunstgriff, I could
term it, but terhaps poo
optimistically.

But that's OK: I'll use it as
pillowy stepping-stone

(amidst rock-strewn wet stream)

to delusional peace of mind.

At least till
I find
something
better.

Night, Barb.
Sweet dreams.
Miss you.

Again

I hugely enjoyed your write. I particularly liked the way you shifted that consonants around (the opening line, e.g.). Thanx, ID P.S. You know me: I am always correcting people, and for once I feel the urge to correct you: line 9 should read "bietet sich dem Auge". Believe me, I am German after all!
