When Love is Not Enough

When Love is Not Enough

To love is not enough
When I know not who you are
To love is not enough
When your touches only hurt
To love is not enough
When you say you love, and
Your actions tells me different
To love is not enough
When there is love on your face, and
The passion is not there
To love is not enough
When love is not in you, and
I have not reached your heart

When Love Is Not Enough

Barbara, A nicely written piece here, filled with your love. _____________________________ To write a touching poem, you must gently stir the soul, if it brings forth tears or smiles, then the story was beautifully told. ________Janice Pearce_________

hi

your poem seems nice but somehow i can't help feeeling like its too plain, it doesn't sound like there is any emotion, it's about love but it's jst plain, you could try and spice it up a little bit.

Hi Chica

Thanks for those suggestions I really appreciate your honest truthful input on how it makes you feel. I totally disaggreed with you, so I ask my nineteen year old daughter and she agree with you a 100% So when I read it with what you said in mind it comfirm what my family say I look like, a non geniune phony with no emotions. I actually see that in this piece. It is far from the truth about me, but I must write how I feel. I am happy it distinguishes the difference between true love and pretension, which is what I was aimimg for. I have some other poem you might find more to your liking. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

this touched me deeply

I thought I was in love, then a slap in the face brought me back during sex, how does it happen? I still don't know but I am sure it is why I am still single at 50. I am clever at lots of things but it is perhaps why I will never be a great poet. A deeply insightful poem. You get better and bettter all the time. cheers, Jess

I think you are a great poet I especially like your poems *A poem of love* and *The gibbous moon*. I cannot say I love you to any one without feeling suffocated, but I can show it. Which most see as phony. Then I say, oh well and then I find my own inner peace without them. (Philippians 4:6, 7) Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Barbara,

beautiful is what I say this is. You express the two sides of love here. the side that is unconditional, that I assume is your side. then you show the side of your partner who loves, but only for his own ends. To say I love you, and it does not come from the true deep place, can always be seen by the one who has said I love you from their very soul. That is where you feel it is not enough, show me by your actions not by words. I truly understand that! Your poetry is becoming deep, meaning that something inside of you has awoken. You are tapping into something beautiful! thanks, Eddie "do like the once barren tree: flourish and like the planted seed: rise" Jose De Diego

Thanks Eddie

You have said correctly what this poem is about. You found the main point in what I am trying to express. Not many people can find that in my many babbles. Is there ever such a thing as unconditional love from any one. Everybody wants or needs something in return. Thanks so much for you comment it is refreshing. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

My sweet Barbara,

there is unconditional love, but like the Bird of Paradise it is hard to find. I can honestly say that I have found it in my lovely wife. She has been with me through thick and thin, that's how I know for sure that it exist! thanks, just keep writing for we love you! Ah, my friend

I could have sworn I commented on this one! Now I can add no more because Eddie said it all. *sigh* and I so would have loved to have said what he did and you did in your lovely poem. Well said, well done. Respectfully, Rett: "Did you ever notice that the politicians who want to ban gun ownership are the very ones that should be shot anyway?" Rett: 2008
