Indulging Winter

Indulging Winter

Its winter time again, and
Jack Frost pinched my nose, and
Squeezed my very toes

Clinching tight my cozy jacket
I ran inside to soak up heat, and
Pour a cup tea

Rubbing my hands and toes
Sitting by the fireplace
They start to burn and tingle

Chilly winter days
We burn away the frost
Indulging gentle touches

Winter

Fancy trying to remind us of what is to come I hope that we don't have a Shakespere one, but enjoy all the changes. I will have to read more on the construction of poetry, as myself as this piece is just written as it is most time without rhyme, but with reason LOL A simple little piece that encompasses a season, maybe there's more ??? Take care, Loved it anyway, Yours, Yenti

Noooo...

I definitely don't indulge winter.... I abhor it! Being in the south spoiled me, with no snow and shorter winters. Your poem, while beautiful, also reminded me how much the northeast sucks. We had our two weeks of nice weather, now it's back to cold. *sobs* ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - this is part of the reason why us Americans are pissed! http://www.neopoet.com/node/14993 We're broke!!

Barbara,

I read this got up and turned on the heat in the house, you brought the cold to my home with this poem. I love winter and it's crispness. Everything smells cleaner and new to me. coming in from the cold to a warm house always brings a smile to my frozen face. great Imagery! Glad I found a winter lover. I have friends that pick on me for complaining about the cold *all in good fun* the clear smell and newness I love as well as the colors. I run inside from the cold and do these things as well as others is the fun part I do say. the though cheered me up. Glad you like it and enjoyed it so. Looking to bring smiles to frozen faces this winter. *S* Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Indulging Winter

Barbara, I simply shivered reading your elegant poem. Winters are not so cold in my part of Portugal but I understand what it would be like with frost and snow. You have to learn to enjoy it. Many people do. -Mohammad

Barbara, I can only find two flaws.

1. is that squeeze should be squeezed and 2. you wrote it and I didn't. I'm jealous! Wonderful write my friend! (HUGS) Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby" Rett: 2008

Hey Barbara!

I don't much care for winter, but I do like this poem! Too many winters in Vermont, I guess! See Ya!
