Doom O-Clock Time

Just before something terrible happens
your ears may hear clocks falsely chime,
then it's too late to pray,
innocence fades away,
I apologize but I must write this rhyme
about a thing called, "Doom O-Clock Time".

This has nothing to do with night's "Twilight",
when the children spread giggles in dreams;
throughout the day long,
Fate helps Doom knit this song,
then they sing it with all of their might,
causing what happens next, not to be right.

It's like some abominable injustice
this will only help strengthen your fears;
consider Murphy's Law, tame
Fate and Doom both know your name,
and as you look on through your tears,
the dreaded "Doom O-Clock Time" quickly nears.

There is a strategy known, though
before Doom releases the shard;
that cuts like a knife,
and can ruin your life,
believe me this is really quite hard,
you must pretend you're the deck, not the card.

The best of two things will happen
as long as you believe not, Doom's lies;
you'll evade Doom's black curse,
and by expecting the worse,
by the time you've re-opened your eyes,
you'll be met by a pleasant surprise.

The surprise is, the worst will not happen
and you'll experience a feeling sublime;
Fate can still be your friend,
but that won't be the end,
I promise you here in this rhyme,
there's no curse worse, than "Doom O-Clock Time".
