Darkness (Happy Halloween everyone)

Darkness

In the dark of night take a walk
Open your ears and your mind
Listen to eerie sounds of night
Flee the boundaries of time

On padded feet they chase the moon
Across grass strewn lawns so neat
‘Twixt the open fields and the sky
Listen close, hear their heart beat?

Shadow wolves on their nightly hunt
Longing for the light of day
Creeping by, unseen, ever there
Hungering for fresh killed prey

Just a disturbance in your eye
A flicker you cannot see
The stealthy creep in the shadow
Fear the pale moon, now fear ME!

Thank you Jess

Yep, times are a changing and the beast is not necessarily a wolf or vampire, but your next door neighbor. Glad you liked it. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby" Rett: 2008

Sometimes a person has to do what a person has to do. Enjoyed the ditty Anna. Respectfully, Rett: "Life is like a beach. Salty, gritty, somewhat fishy and at other times, downright crabby" Rett: 2008
