The Glitch Ate My Poems

The Glitch Ate My Poems

I was writing poems and helping others
Then I fell asleep unable to carry on
When I Woke up my computer had updates
I Hit the restart button and booted up
And got the shock of my life.

Upon login, my desktop icons were gone
Oh no, all my poems were lost
Years of work went up in smoke
Clicked all the restore points, but
My heart felt defeat when my icons left again.

Restoring my computer did not work
No fair, computer glitch took my poems
No problem, trusty DVD backup saved the day
My heart is back where it belongs
I just backed-up a few hours earlier.

You make me laugh, thanks for commenting wanted to kick my laptop too, but restore only what I normally work on so I could continue without too much stress. Will restore one as I need. Last time lost all my new poems for three days bummer. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Been there, done that, had backup,

Stopped crying. Had hard drive fail in middle of session once. Had second hard drive in system with pic and poems on it. Replaced old failed drive with new, had everything back, backed up data again. Of course this was after one catstophic failure that if I had not had paper copy backups I would have been up that well now tributary without the proper means of locomotion. Enjoyed the poem my friend and relate so well. Respectfully, Rett: "You want change? Let's elect a president and give him total power for a year. At the end of one year he is marched out into the middle of Reliant Stadium in Houston and locked in with 50,000 of the American people. Let them decide
