Where is humanity?

Interesting!!! You know Jess, I agree and disagree with you at the same time. A kind of paradox one would say but not really. James Scully, in his book: "Line Break - Poetry as a Social Practice" quotes Walter Benjamin who, in 1934, asked anti fascist writers to produce and promote literature that is a means of production rather than an article of consumption - a literature that is a compelling motive for decision rather than an object of comfortable contemplation" How true. That should be an artist's first priority But then again - as poets, painters, sculptors, musicians - we also have a responsibility to nature. If we see something great; something that inspires us; something that brings a gleam of joy into our lives, we should try to capture it in its essence. I don't take myself very seriously as a poet but I love the art - in fact any form of art - and I try to do my best and yes - one more thing: I am fanatical about nature. Sunsets, sunrises, rivers, oceans, mountains, forests and absolutely anything connected to nature have always been a source of inspiration and joy for me. Thanks anyway for stopping by. Instructive and constructive criticism is always welcome. The eyes, the minds, the responses and reactions of others are the mirrors of our work. As long as we respond responsibly, thats all that matters. If the intention and the approach is right, criticism will always be a good thing. Cheers ... Leonard

I like it !

I am always searching for volcanic light pouring out of the sky around dusk time. I had a bit of a mind twist with this line, Leonard; splinter eastern sky into Anyhow the fundamental haiku is rather cool :) Later, Mark Man thinks this.

Actually...

Since he's talking about nature, isn't that one of those senryu thingies?? I thought one was about nature, and the other (haiku) was everything else. I could be mistaken, though. Really liked it, irregardless of what the technically correct format is! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"The fortunes of fables are able To see the dawn Now witness the quickness with which We get along To sing the blues you've got to live the dues and Carry on." - CSN&Y
