One Day

Enjoy the flowers
rainbows
take in the sights
For one day you may be blind.

Listen to a child's laughter.
rolling thunder
a purring cat
For one day you may be deaf.

Feel the silkiness of your other.
Their warmth
Their essence.
For one day you may lose all feeling

Remember the things that matter
your wedding day
your first kiss
For one day you may be senile.

Don't be afraid to tell that special someone
that you love them more than life
And you'd walk to the ends of the earth for them
For one day they may be gone.

Stand up for what you believe in
put your faith in God above.
And live every day as if it's your last
For one day you will be right.

I thought this was good, it enlightens us on the things we take for granted and how me should take every opportunity to show appreciation for the things that matter to us and the six senses that we are given as a gift from God to enjoyed life to the fullest. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Of course

I don't believe the ideas in this poem are new, Jess. The construction, however, is done with a simplistic expetise that really has me chocked up. Remember the first time ya held hnds with that one you were nuts for? Sent me into outer space (for a long time lol ) Real nice work here, Jess. My kind of reading. Thanks you, Mark Man thinks this.

Thanks y'all

Thought I'd take a step back from my rants, funny stuff, and politics.... Just started typing, and this is what came out. Too often we just don't take the time to stop and smell the roses - and I've been guilty of that way too much in recent times. ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- -"They gave you life, and in return you gave 'em hell. As cold as ice, I hope we live to tell the tale..." - Tears For Fears
