my eye has seen, what my mouth cannot tell but i think i can know nowhere near the truth that this world holds in secret and no man could die twice; if this could occur then the core of this world will be known and still i can say i have seen wonders, and wickedness, and wishes, and ways that various men portray, and play different characters to different roles, and scenes but what a wonder man is, i attest to the fickleness, frailty, and fortune of man that what a man has become nothing more living in this universe, ever can be

What does this mean?

I must say that I have great difficulty understanding this. Perhaps it is just too profound for me to grasp. However, in answer to your question, I don't think it is internally logically consistent. Why If a man could die twice would the core of this world be known? I just can't make any sense of that statement. Why would this be so? What does that mean? The poem is beautifully written, but it doesn't make any sense to me. I feel the same way about the last line. It sounds incredibly profound, but I have absolutely no idea what it means! Sorry to be so negative, but you did ask for the raw truth. Michael
