MISPLACED LOVE
MISPLACED LOVE What answers do I get from you? What fruits of labor do I reap? If I may ask, for an objectSo cherished and desired Tell me, have I waited in vainThat you would never come to me You are the unwilling AfricaTowering like a mountain, so high Hesitating, while the time ticksAway with progress and prosperity I am at cross-roadsTo come or to leave Clear my crippling dark doubtsWith rays beaming with love That I may in partnership climbTo the peak of our mountain To breathe out a shared dreamAnd set desires in bondage free Will there ever be love between usNo, yours was the affection I never had
