MISPLACED LOVE

MISPLACED LOVE What answers do I get from you? What fruits of labor do I reap? If I may ask, for an objectSo cherished and desired Tell me, have I waited in vainThat you would never come to me You are the unwilling AfricaTowering like a mountain, so high Hesitating, while the time ticksAway with progress and prosperity I am at cross-roadsTo come or to leave Clear my crippling dark doubtsWith rays beaming with love That I may in partnership climbTo the peak of our mountain To breathe out a shared dreamAnd set desires in bondage free Will there ever be love between usNo, yours was the affection I never had

A subtle difference...

That which becomes apparent by the word 'longing', yes, either the pouring out of the feeling of love for someone or an object, or the wish to be loved by someone you love. I don't know if I got it right, but this offers an insight. 'Misplaced Love' speaks of unfulfilled desires and dreams for Africa represented by a woman. Thank you for stopping by to read and comment. Best wishes. T.
