The Web

Beads of dew capture the light
on a thread so fine.
True silk spun with delicate detail.
the web so strong in creation.

A design built to hold fast its catch.
Sparkles in spirals of beauty so divine.
The web built with intended design.

This thing of strength and purpose.
Winds blow from the north, winds from the south.
I've seen this web before at it's best.
Busy little spider repair your work.

Never ending duty you must never shirk.

Phoenix

If we could keep ourselves as busy as a spider in the building of a life, we would not go down the roads, we were not meant to travel. So focus like a spider on the things that are important to you, like your beautiful poetry. thanks, Eddie

Hi Dana...

glad to see you back and posting... the web.. very real description of a hard working spider... towards the end of fall a spider built a web on my house... a gruesome looking spider with an orange back as big as a quarter, but this spider had studied our daily routine and built this web just under where we walk to and fro.. my wife is deathly afraid of spiders but even she was in awe at how smart this creature was... it worked on the web like in your poem, every day. We watched it until recently, a couple of cold nights I guess .... good to see you Richard

The web

I too am fascinated by the spider and web. When you look at the simple things in life and watch the sun shine on them they are a work of art. Awesome idea and a darn good write. Patty

The Web

Wow Amazing my friend. I just love nature in all it beauty. The web of the spider is amazing and to watch it at work. The intelligence of something so small. But the art it creates is awesome. Thank you my friend for observing the beauty of nature Electricblue
