Un Dieu M'aident

I need someone to help me

To help me find my way

I need someone to show me

Where I went astray

Don't know where I'm going

Nor hardly where I've been

Life was just a blur

Life lived in a dream

Now I think I'm finally settled

With a woman I adore

But still beleaguered by the question

Is there something more ?

Will I hit the self destruct

As I've far too often done

Or live what time is left

With that question on my tongue

A reflection on life, and you are never alone, time and the Autumn of our lives bring to us regrets and thoughts of green grass that may have been, but the reality is as you have written it, and very well to, has to be faced with the reality of the now, where things we have, should be enough to hold us when Winter comes. Yours, Ian.T

Hi Pinksheep

Yes it's about me, glad you enjoyed it and thank you for taking the time to comment. It's highly unlike me to be so introspective. It has been a long time since i've written anything (about 20 years) I expect to make the odd faux pas with some of my stuff, and it wont always be to everyones taste, but any positive comments are always welcome and hopefully will spur me on to bigger and better things. John

i can assure you that you do not know what a faux pas is, i excel in these-i have not yet found a way of getting them deleted , though i have deleted most of my poems, and that took forever-
