Love Blossoms

Love Blossoms

Around this silky rosebud
The crimson petals shine
I long again to touch it
Once more to make it mine.

I love to touch the blossom
It's fragrance so devine
To brush the blushing petals
Against these lips of mine

To caress the tiny bud
Uncovered deep within
Once more to feel the tremble
Battered by passion's wind

Again to see the wonder
As the flower unfolds
To drink the honeyed nectar
The loving blossom holds

To bask in sunlight sated
Fed by the sweetness there
To close my eyes in wonder
At petals oh so rare...

very romantic!

I just logged in and this is the first poem I saw in the stream!...how lovely! Title?...sounds nonspecific, don't you think? Language?...some lines may need some work! Excellent flow with romantic atmosphere and blooming roses...will make a wonderful gift on valentine's day...enjoyable one..thank you Rett.

Thank you Amalzamani

I will see if I can polish it up a bit more. I appreciate it. Respectfully, Rett: "We can all be thankful that Picasso wasn't a plastic surgeon." Rett

Amalzamani

I think I have taken care of the rough spots and maybe the title is a little less ambiguous. Respectfully, Rett: "We can all be thankful that Picasso wasn't a plastic surgeon." Rett

the first line!

I'm still not sure of the first line Like a rosebud so silky The crimson petals shine Perhaps Around this silky rosebud The crimson petals shine or something like that sorry but the word "so" always distracts me...and I keep thinking "how much is so?" just an idea...(smile)...if you did not like it, ignore it.

Hmm

I'll keep my gutter brain out of this one. "Like a rosebud so silky The crimson petals shine I long again to touch it Once more to make it mine" - I miss my flowers, too. Damn hurricane Hannah killed 'em all with too much water, and flooding. Only a couple bounced back - now I have a 2'x 16' strip, and two small plants in it.... *sniff* :~( ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "Everyone needs to believe in something. Sorry about your flowers

You will be able to plant them back in the spring. Most of my flowers died out also, but the biggest part of the plants survived okay. elephant ears, rubber trees, airplane(spider) plants and the rest. Respectfully, Rett: "We can all be thankful that Picasso wasn't a plastic surgeon." Rett

Smiles:) Barbara This is a beautiful love poem. I love the image here so sweet. The flow kinda stumble for me in the last line of stanza three and afterward. I have no suggestion on this, but the love here is beautiful even though being battered by passion wind.
