Old Poet Hearts

We're old friends now
living under
the same conservatory of stars
violins of adagio sky,
avalanches of impaling darkness,

herons of moonlight
silently pass by

I imagine you'll most likely
never know it
for you have forgotten me
in all the prophecies
of words
when I danced like Salome
with the last red veil
that came between
us,
and now
we have gone our separate ways,
paths that define us
paths that refine us
you married again
I fell in love twice
with the Poet of my Heart
when love slid down
between my breasts
and thighs
like silk and ambrosia

... another face is just
another map
in a reckless time
 beneath
the transcendental song
 and iris sea
the Poet rises

like a wandering monk

he writes poetry across a golden pond
he doctors my soul..

You just keep blowing my mind here Anna! I am speechless!! "There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you." Will Rogers

Ah Anna

Another good one here. You certainly have a way of painting a picture with your words. My favorite lines... I imagine you’ll most likely never know it for you have forgotten me in all the prophecies of words when I danced like Salome with the last red veil that came between us, Those lines blew me away. Such an awesome visual that that presents. Respectfully, Rett: "We can all be thankful that Picasso wasn't a plastic surgeon." Rett

Anna

That's the second time this week I've had to scurry for a dictionary - y'all are good. Really liked this one, so melodical. Nice silky flow. 5 * here, girl! ~Jess K. ---------------------------------------------------- - "Everyone needs to believe in something. Anna breathtaking

I think we have a lot in common. This poem so reminds me of my ex. I too find solace in writing. I loved the part about the red veil. Patty
